An Islamic shrine standing on Haram Ash-Sharif in the city of Jerusalem in Israel.

Considered to be sacred by the followers of the three major religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

This is the oldest Islamic monument, built in 688, and finished in 691 AD by Umayyad caliph Abd al-Malik. The present structure was built on the site of the Jewish Temple that was reduced to rubble by the Romans in 70 CE.
